Growing deeper in the Christian faith is not automatic and does not happen overnight. Sunday school is our primary discipleship tool at Petal Harvey. For middle school students, we start off with a fun get-to-know-you activity, then move into small group Bible study. Sunday School is a great way to learn more about God’s great love for us and how to live as Jesus desires. We meet every Sunday morning at 10 am in the youth room. Come early and snack on sausage biscuits and Mt. Dew – the breakfast of champions!
This is a high energy worship service designed just for middle school students. Fun games, great music, relevant teaching, and small discussion groups all wrapped up in one burrito makes for a truly unique worship experience for teenagers. Each semester we focus on different themes like: Big Issues; Scary, Weird, and Gross Stories from the Bible; and Foundations of Faith. Lessons are built to clearly show middle school students how the Word of God relates to their everyday life. It might get a little crazy sometimes, but if you are looking for an awesome time worshiping our creator, come check out MX! Every Wednesday night in the youth room from 6:00-7:15 pm. Doors open at 5:00 for snacks and hanging out.
Camp – The biggest event we do all year! Every summer we take off for a week of fun, rockin’ music, and intensive Bible study.
Disciple Now – DNOW is like a retreat at home. Teens break up into groups and stay in local homes with adult leaders, attend an awesome conference at different churches in the city, and have the best discussion groups ever!
Panther Pride Sunday – On this Sunday, we come to church dressed for success in our best Petal Panther gear.
Summer Blowout Days – We get together one day a week during the summer for some “quality time” together playing laser tag, kayaking, bowling, and all kinds of other stuff.
Mission Projects – We put hands and feet to our faith several times each year in service projects for the community of Petal and Hattiesburg.
